A 14-year-old stabbed her step sister, in the family's suburban Chicago home, because she didn't feel appreciated, police said Wednesday.
The mother wasn't home. It happened in the early morning hours on Tuesday.
The two girls disagreed, fought, the night prior.
The teen used a kitchen knife to stab her step sister in bed. The wounds added up to about 40 on the 11-year-old. The 14-year-old took a shower afterwards.
A lock-down was called for nearby schools after the 11-year-old was found, because the14-year-old told police that a Hispanic male broke in, stabbed her sister and ran away.
The 14-year-old was charged with first degree murder in juvenile court after she allegedly killed her sister.
The teen was taken away. In weeks to come, it'll be determined if she'll be charged as an adult.

Newtown Shooter Could Have Reached Out
Newtown shooter, Adam Lanza, could have reached out to a radio show about one year before the attack, per a newspaper.
Sandy Hook Elementary School shooter, Lanza, may have called a radio show before his massacre. Lanza made comparisons, of sorts, between a Connecticut chimpanzee who had mauled a female in 2009, and a "teenage mall shooter or something like that," according to a published report Thursday in the New York Daily News.
The New York Daily News identified Lanza as the caller. The paper confirmed it through Internet postings, and two of the shooter's friends.
The seven minute caller identified himself as "Greg," Lanza, who spoke low.
Lanza, 20, killed 26 people at the Newtown, Connecticut School before killing himself.
