A Positive Attitude

How Does a Positive Attitude Help?
A positive attitude spins-out better results in any situation life brings, day or night. Granted, it may not be the results you wanted, but positivity plays a big role in how the situation is resolved. The World of Relationships swirls into moments that can zap away a positive attitude, if you let it. It's not easy to stay positive in the middle of a difficult issue or problem. However, it's the moment to make a choice. Decide on whether you'll flow with negativity or muster the courage to have a positive attitude work for you. The positive attitude will inspire you to feel better as well as others during hard times. The following are ways to grab and hold onto a positive attitude.
  • Avoid un-necessary drama.
  • Ease away from people who lie, cheat and steal.
  • People with such habits bring negativity to anyone around them.
  • You can't help them unless they want help.
Learn How to Say No

It adds stress and burdens when you can't put the two letters together verbally. A positive attitude is next to impossible to have while you're worried about this commitment, that scheduled plan and the other get-together that you're responsible for.  Practice the following ways to say no.
  • I can't, but I'll think about it.
  • Have to check my schedule.
  • I'm unable to take on any more responsibilities.
  • I wouldn't be able to any time soon.
Decide on Having a Positive Attitude

Be mindful of the fact that life is what you make of it. Choose to have a positive attitude. It will become a good habit with practice. It takes time, especially if change is difficult for you, to become one with positive thinking. You can do it. Try the exercise below, and add other words to keep you moving forward.

  • Practice saying the words in your mind.
  • I'll be positive today.
  • It doesn't matter what happens.
  • A positive day is mine.
Appreciate

Appreciate the people in your life, even what you're taking for granted. An appreciation for the small things will encourage you to feel more positive about life and feel better. There are, for example, places in the World where people are afraid to express opinions on or off-line.
  • Tell the people or a person in your life how much they matter to you.
  • Be thankful for just waking up each day.
  • Smile at the person you pass-by each morning.
  • Allow your inner positivity to shine through.
Adjust Your Diet

The foods you're eating or not eating may be impacting happiness. Perhaps, slices of fruit is a wise choice over candy and cookies. It's always a good idea to consult your health-care provider before attempting changes concerning food and exercise.
  • Substitute water for some other beverage.
  • Meals without lots of meat and salt are ways to help have a positive attitude.
  • Try smaller portions of food.
  • The goal is to balance in-take for a better you.
Schedule

Habits in life takes effort and determination to change. Schedule times to nurture a positive attitude. Most of us are multi-tasking, and it's necessary to schedule an appointment. Usually, when there's an appointment you keep it. The rule applies here too. It adds one more step to the positive way of thinking.
  • Pick the time and prompt that's right for you.
  • I will be positive today.
  • The job is mine (make sure you're qualified).
  • There's nothing to fear.
A positive attitude is "the difference maker," Dr. Alan Zimmerman, motivational speaker. The attitude you present can open or close a door of opportunity. An opportunity disappears when you're wearing a negative  attitude.
  • A positive attitude is a key to success.
  • Happiness dances with positivity.
  • Stress tips away from a positive attitude.
  • The quality of life is better when a positive attitude is sprinkled around.
