Justine Sacco: 'I am very sorry for the pain I caused'

Justine Sacco, former PR executive, who made comments on Twitter that sealed her fate, at least with IAC.

The Twitter comments were tweeted before Sacco arrived in Africa. Sacco's comments: Going to Africa. Hope I don't get AIDS. Just kidding. I'm white!

The tweet went viral before Sacco landed in Africa.

"There's an AIDS crisis taking place in this country, that we read about in America, but do not live with or face on a continuous basis, Sacco's apology.

The offensive comment does not reflect the views and values of IAC...we have parted ways with the employee in question, IAC's spokesman Ryan Trostle.

"I am very sorry for the pain I caused," Sacco.

A tweet, word spoken or an action can't be undone. It's wise to think before tweeting, speaking or taking an action.

An apology helps, but the damage remains. Think before doing.
